TIGRE SOCIAL HQ
On October 25, 1885, the Buenos Aires Rowing Club acquired the land on which it is located. The Tudor style building was built in 1912 by Robert Harrison Lomax, an renown English architect living in Argentina. Later, in 1920, it was decided to enlarge and remodel the building, entrusting the task to Architect Miguel Madero, a prominent rower who would be the future president of the club. The new facilities make up the 3,000 m2 it has today.
The structural and façade modifications completely changed the appearance of the building, taking it closer to a large Victorian mansion, as it can be seen today.
The Social Headquarters has tennis courts, a semi-Olympic swimming pool with solarium and attached garden, a children’s pool, playground equipment, storage sheds for a large fleet of boats with more than 100 boats, a gymnasium specifically equipped for rowing training, a restaurant, dressing rooms, reading rooms, games and events room. It is complemented with SUM (multiple uses) and barbecue. Upstairs there are comfortable, well-equipped bedrooms for rent.
At the back of the headquarters and connected exclusively for members from the inside, there is a SportClub Rowing fitness center, open to the public on Montes de Oca Street. Thus, the members of the Buenos Aires Rowing Club have at their disposal a modern and complete fitness center, indoor swimming pool and multipurpose court.
